These videos were produced over about 20 years by a society that wanted students who were interested in a career in fisheries and ocean science to be able to appreciate the career choices made by some of Canada's best marine and freshwater scientists. All videos were produced independently of government, although the Canadian government was a generous supporter of the program. A number of people helped within the society to make these videos possible. Videos were produced by Rod Langely with Dick Beamish as the Executive Producer. The copyrights for all videos were eventually given to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, allowing the videos to become widely available.
